Chinese Metaphysics: a branch of Chinese Philosophy

Chinese Metaphysics is a branch from the ancient Chinese Philosophy. This study can be defined as “ the love of wisdom” or “an activity people undertake when they seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves, the world in which they live, and their relationships to the world and to each other ”(1).

With the profundity that wisdom brings, it becomes clear as to why religions such as Taoism would have adopted these principles (2). Where religious practices are concerned, they might involve the performance of certain rituals and/or forms of worshipping of several ancient Chinese philosophers such as Laozi 老子.

Focusing on the principles of Chinese metaphysics, the study is best viewed as theories relating to nature, components and operating principles of reality (3).
